In south Africa there is a two year women program.
The nature of journalism has transformed becouse of the internet. more people are contributing and some don't even know that there journalist.
how do you get these people safer?
They play a important role to provide a different perspective, state media and private media do often not provide a objective perspective.
UNESCO is busy changing the definition of journalism to include the community journalist to provide them with the same level of protection.
BUt there are also challenges to include a code of ethics on this level of journalism.
Tools to protect a person or journalist online should be free, some of these tools cost 100.000 euros
Also there is high level of skill needed to use this tools, so even free tools are not user friendly.
